A ZEAL TO WORK 🫶🏿
How much money is the real money?what next if one is both super duper successful and extremely rich at a young age? Will we work for our passion and with a service mentality if money is in surplus?.
I was reading an article recently. It was about a person who had tasted success and had become very very rich at a young age. He had reached his set goals as per his plans. The surprising fact was that inspite of the success and the money he could feel an irreplaceable void in his life. He didn’t have the same aspirations and was in dilemma about what was in store next for him in his near future. It was like had reached a point of saturation in his life and career to reach a dead end. I was surprised to read this piece of news.
We all firmly believe in that if a person is Richie rich and successful, then things are taken care of very easily in his life. Success and Money give the ultimate feeling of content and peace is the notion.
There is a saying “ LIFE IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAND”. I could completely agree with this after reading the article.
This article made me pose a question to myself . The question is: WHAT THREE JOBS YOU’d CONSIDER PURSUING IF MONEY DIDN’t MATTER ? I could think about two jobs instantly. I am sure that I would be able to find a third job before I finish this write-up.
The The first job I wish I would do if money is not of much concern is : I would like to work in an old age home as a friend , guide to the old people in the old age home. I would like to spread a ray of positivity, give a pat on their back to these senior citizens who are at their past the prime phase, slowly marching towards the sunset. I would like to play board games, sing with them, smile with them , listen to their stories and bring a small smile on their faces. It would be an achievement for me if I could that in real. Most of the old people are done with their duties and responsibilities to lead a life of empty nest. In this phase of an empty nest syndromes, it is impossible to expect some attention from the immediate kith and kin. Time deprived it is too much to ask for a pat on the back from them. This is a very common problem prevailing everywhere nowadays. So I would love to be a friend to these old people and try to bring a smile of solace on their faces.
My second job which I would love to do if money wasn’t a concern: It would be to be a counsellor at a school. Given the hardships, fierce competitions, struggle to achieve their goals in the field of academics students indeed fall prey to depression and insecurities. Also the peer pressure plays an important role in contributing for their inferiority complexes. Added to this some students are also burdened with their parents marital problems, abuse, violence to name a few. I would love to be a counsellor and have a frank talk with students to boost their morale slowly .This cannot happen in or two visits. I may have to visit them regularly to instil a trust feeling so that they may open up with utmost frankness and honesty. But a feeling of content and satisfaction will be the experience I may get a reward.
My third job which I would prefer doing if money wasn’t a concern is: I would love to spend some fun time with toddlers in a day care. This is because while spending time with small children we tend to go back to the world of innocence, happiness, unworldliness, purity, guilelessness, playfulness and simplicity. In our life where complexities, tensions and stress play an important role, to enjoy these child-nature even for few moments in a day is a blessing.
I am indeed glad that I could list three simple jobs to do if money weren’t a concern for me. More than the job the clarity of what I would like to do makes me glad. To be stinkingly rich enough at a young age to not to do a job is very rare. But we can always have some noble thoughts to carry on with our good spirit ideas.
The bottom line is : GOOD THOUGHTS AND HUMBLE BEGINNINGS MAKE A PERSON HAPPY AND CONTENT , THAN , THE SUCCESS AND THE MONEY EARNED IN LIFE.
It would be appreciated if you can open up your views with regard to this.

This article really got me thinking, if money didn't matter , I d probably spend my days as full time travel blogger, a cozy bookshop and cafe owner and may be a Table tennis coach
Beautiful reflection, Uma. I love the three roles you chose each rooted in giving and connection. It’s a reminder that true fulfillment comes from contribution, not just success or money. 🙏
