From my perspective - ✍️
This is a blog I have written based on a thread I came across in a substack chat.
Your opinion is the only one that matters
Recently I had the opportunity to write few lines on the above theme suggested by Shah Huzaifa
I felt I should give a try writing my thoughts on the same.
Opinions????? Well it is an interesting word to deal with. As an opinion makes or mars a final decision taken.
Usually it is the opinions that matters, to take give a final call or a closure to most of the problems we are given to deal with.
This theme is different .
As it says “ Your opinion is the only one that matters“ intrigued me .
When does only my opinion matter???
Where ?
Why?
So many questions posed by my mind.
The reason being, when it comes to opinions for the problems faced by us in our life we have to give weightage to others opinions too. This cannot be overlooked at all. The best of many suggestions and opinions is usually accepted as a best solution to the problems we have to deal with.
But, When it comes to writing , it is my zone. This is a sacred place where one and only my opinions matter
While writing I choose the genres to pen my thoughts in a powerful manner. This is a place where only my words speak in the form of writing. When we write our thoughts from our mind are channelised and the heart listens to it to express the same into a smooth flow of words.
Writing is so powerful!!!
Why??
Writing is a kind of therapy
Writing is the “twists, turns and jumble of words from A-Z that helps us express our emotions and thoughts exactly the way our mind thinks .
Writing becomes an outlet for the upheaval of emotions that often remain stagnant in our minds. Many times we are unable to express what we truly feel. At such moments sitting down and writing helps us pour out our feelings exactly the way we want .
That is the reason why “ Writing Diaries”has been most popular for so many years.
I remember penning down my thoughts in a diary that had been gifted to my father in his office . I used to write everyday after coming back from school. Everything that happened during the day along with the feelings were written in the diary.
How did I start writing diaries ????
It so happened that I had a fight with my close friend at school. At that age after parents our world are our friends, isn’t it??. That was the first fight I had in my life.
I cried a lot after the argument. Being frank with our feelings in front of our friends could only be experienced at that age of innocence.
I came home still crying. With a long face I went straight to my room without even speaking to my mother. With a heavy heart, I sat on my study table. That is when I noticed a new diary on the table. It had glossy pages. When I opened it , I saw the page had already the date and day printed on it.
Without thinking much I started writing.
The words came out very spontaneously without any block. I poured all my feelings on those pages , everything that had happened that day in the school.
When I finished writing I felt very light. It was almost as if I had spoken to my closest friend and shared my pain.
From that day I developed this habit to write everyday after coming back from school. Everything that happened during the day along with the feelings were written in the diary.
I wish I had kept the diary safely. It would have been interesting to read those pages today. The emotions and thoughts of my younger self as a school girl trying to make sense of everything around her.
Writing doesn’t need any age limit. The only requirement is a language where we are fluent enough to express what we feel in our mind.
Writing helps us express everything that is stored in our mind. When we are stressed, sad, in pain, in loss, facing down slope in both professional and personal life then ‘writing or journaling’ is the bestest way to untangle our emotions to feel lighter.
Writing clears the clutter in our mind and makes us feel lighter. Sometimes the paper listens patiently than people do. In this silent interaction between the paper and the pen, our emotions begin to find a meaning.
The final answer I could find for the topic “ My opinion is the only one that matters” - it is only in my “WRITING”.
As I could manage to write only few lines for the above question posed by Shah Huzaifa , I thought of extending my thoughts to a publish this as a newsletter.
All of us in this platform are well aware how much valuable writing is. I took this to my advantage to pen my thoughts about the same .
The girl who once wrote in a diary
grew into a woman who still writes her heart out.
My final closing line is “WRITING” is where my only opinion matters .
What is your opinion on the same ?? Would be interesting to read in the comments.
Subscribing to my substack is the best thing I would like and would welcome always 🤗

Agreed V S, your opinion should count in your writing! It's a piece of your mind on the digital page, so it's still part of you, your intellect, your soul.
Your words feel like a quiet conversation with yourself.
