Resilience on Rainy Roads ☔️🛺
This blog is about a very small observation i made on a rai y day. It made me weave a small blog about the survival strategies. How circumstances make a person strong to be survival of the fittest.
Hey all,
In my last blog, I had written about the pinching reality of screens in our lives. This one is about something entirely different — something that truly touched my heart. It’s not about screens this time, but about resilience and smartness I got to witness the other evening. So… let’s begin!
It so happened that I had to go to the market two days back. It was raining heavily. I started booking an autorickshaw to get there. Now, I must confess — I love auto rides! The simple reason being the breeze that blows from both sides, and the songs the driver plays — songs we rarely hear, sometimes in languages I don’t even understand, but always fun to the core! 🎶
With the evening rain and the cool breeze, it was pure romantic vibes. But, of course, no story about Indian rains is complete without mentioning the potholes and waterlogging. Be it a Mercedes, scooter, or cab — no one can escape them!
To put it in a funny phrase:
“Potholes filled, traffic spilled, patience killed 😬🚦”
Now, back to my story — I started booking autos, but not a single one was ready to come. The heavy downpour seemed to scare them all away. Every ride I booked got cancelled. Still, determined to go out, I kept trying. Finally, one ride got confirmed.
After a few minutes, the auto arrived. Since it was raining, it was covered with plastic sheets on the sides. I hopped in, only to notice — the driver was a lady!
“Wow!” I thought to myself. Such a smart and brave woman. In this weather, where everyone else was cancelling rides, here she was, ready to work!
I couldn’t help but tell her how impressive it was to see her driving in such relentless rain. We had a small conversation during the ride. I mentioned how many drivers had cancelled my rides earlier. She replied,
“If I see the rain, then how will I run my kitchen, madam? I have to take care of my family. I have two children studying in school. My husband earns very little — it’s not enough to manage all our expenses. So once I step out, I try to earn as much as I can. I can’t afford to cancel trips.”

What a beautiful slice-of-life moment 👌 The way you captured her courage and the rainy chaos felt so real. Sometimes, the most inspiring people are the ones we meet in passing just doing their best with what they have. I absolutely loved this piece 🤩
this is so beautiful felt like me on a rainy day and I like that feeling thank you so much for sharing this my friend you have such a beautiful way of painting a picture.
