I really loved this part , which is his father’s patience and how he gently shifted his son’s attention from the mobile to a meaningful conversation was so heartwarming. It shows such a smart and thoughtful parenting moment handling the situation calmly without any conflict.

Hey Uma, let me play a little bit from another angle.

The metric is not just screen time...the real metric shud be how much of tat screen time is actually building a good personality.

And that’s difficult to measure.

Taking the phone away is easy, and

it takes some smartness to shift a child’s focus from the screen to the real world.

But what something they ll miss if you don't give fon to them...

I got a niece who learned a lot more from YouTube than from school.

At the age of 7, she created her own YouTube channel and made a moving picture story using Kinemaster.

At 5, she could recognize n recollect the names of rare flowers like the dandelion....something I had to Google just to confirm.

Every generation is different, but our way of measuring wat’s good or bad is outdated.

We often don’t explore better, more futuristic ways of managing the situation as its not so easy.

Kids are born with survival instincts, and no matter wat we do or don’t do, they eventually become who they want to be.

Tat’s why no two ppl are ever the same.

Hey thanks for the comment.

Indeed there is always another side to explore

Agreed 👍🏻

We are all living in a society where screen is part and parcel of our system.

Cannot deny that 💯

If kids do good for themselves in their allotted screen time it’s something to be appreciated.

But I have also seen kids who take advantage of this screen option and end up learning unnecessary and unwanted things for their age.

This puts an immense pressure on parents

The bottom line is

I am not against this screen scrolling. As I am also at advantage as I am able to post in substack all my thoughts 💭😂

But have to be cautious as all kids are not the same. Each kid has a different approach.

Once again thanks a lots for reading my blog 🙏🏻
