Getting engulfed by thoughts—both positive and negative—is part of being human. The mind doesn’t switch off; it keeps talking. The real burning question isn’t why they come, but how to deal with it??
What strategies should we adapt to deal with negative thoughts🗯️💬💭????.

Well!!! When we are in our teens we start realising the difference between the GOOD and the BAD things. Simultaneously, our mind starts pondering on both GOOD and NEGATIVE thoughts. When things go as per our wish and desires, then there are MINIMAL to ZERO chances for NEGATIVE FEELINGS to dwell in our mind. But, in real it is completely different. None of our minds are filled only with positive thoughts. It has to be a mix of both the thoughts. It’s impossible to even imagine an individual with an uncluttered mind. On the contrary the opposite thing of being engulfed with negative feelings more than positive thoughts is very common with each and every individual.
Many of us unconsciously use negativity as a defence mechanism. The reasons for our mind to be taken hostage by NEGATIVE THOUGHTS are, the complexities and the expectations prevailing in the Job front,Relationships, Friendships, Family bonding to name a few. These complexities aggravates the height of INSECURITIES in our mind. These INSECURITIES give way to NEGATIVE THOUGHTS in abundance in our mind. Unfortunately this prevents us from putting our foot forward .
We cannot completely get rid of these thoughts from our mind. We can only control to some extent. How to control these NEGATIVE THOUGHTS in our mind constantly?.
I agree to this fact that there are many Apps which will help to show a way on how to deal with the negative thoughts( Courtesy- ChatGPT, Google Gemini) to name a few.
Still I felt the need to pen my views on the most searched and trending topic of the hour - HOW TO DEAL WITH -VE THOUGHTS 💭.
Each and everyone will have their own way of handling these negative feelings.The most common method prescribed is MEDITATION. Isn’t it?. I personally feel meditation is an intense way to shoo away the negative thoughts. One has to practice doing meditation regularly to reach the stage where one can wade off the negative feelings. Therefore, when you feel the mind hijacked and is heavy by these negative thoughts, just take DEEP BREATHE . BREATHE IN ,BREATHE OUT - INHALE n EXHALE 😮💨.
Journal your thoughts . When My mind too gets engulfed by negative feelings every now and then. Can’t help it🤷♀️. On such occasions my mind prompts me to write. As I start writing, the thoughts start flowing smoothly for me to write continuously on the topic I wish to write.It really helps me to cope up with the chaotic negative feelings which are responsible for creating a restless mind.
Be your own friend. This is one of the bestest options to follow. How???. By going for a simple WALK with you and only yourself. Walking definitely helps in coping ups with the negative thoughts.
HOW DOES WALKING HELP ????
While walking, just let loose all the thoughts in your mind to roam around freely without any control on them. Let them rotate in their own circles. You can see a magic happen after sometime. Surprising isn’t it? But, it happens, believe me!!!😁. Very simple mechanism!!!. When we let loose our thoughts to roam and ponder in their own path. Then slowly a saturation point occurs. Once our mind is saturated with these thoughts, the mind settles and calms by itself. Very simple method to follow and get some respite from this web of negative thoughts 💭.
The next possible way to wade of these thoughts is to watch crap movies, cartoon shows. Tom and Jerry still be the best optic to watch in cartoon shows. The stupid and funny acts of this cat and mouse to overpower each other will make us laugh nicely. To watch a crap movie where logic plays no role is another best option to relax your mind. In both the above options , we laugh wholeheartedly. There is no logic and just fun and hence your mind gets relaxed. The mind is kept away from judging between the GOOD and BAD while watching a movie or a cartoon show. Mind is completely is totally absorbed in funny and pleasant thought.. This tactic helps in forgetting and also freeing ourselves from the grip of the NEGATIVE THOUGHTS to resume back to our daily routine.
Outdoor activities are very helpful to wade of these NEGATIVE THOUGHTS .Cooking, Swimming, Drawing, Painting, Colouring in a colouring book to name a few. These are all a kind of therapy which soothes our mind to come back to our normal routine soon. Colours have a tremendous impact on our mind. So, playing with COLOURS in a COLOURING book relaxes the mind to the core.
We all as human beings have this inbuilt trait of curiosity to listen or read some gossip of other people’s personal life. Actually gossiping is healthy if done in limits.The other people’s life and their problems has always been fascinating for all of us as normal individuals. There is nothing wrong to feel bad as this is how our mind works. Listening to mind is the best option to come out of the tumultuous state we are trapped in as soon as possible. To read gossip columns of celebrities and famous people is one of the options to shoo away these negative thoughts in our mind. Again while reading gossip columns our mind is engrossed and we become refreshed after a while.
Listening to your favourite music is one of the most sought after options. It is better to listen the music sans the headphones or AirPods. Just play your favourite music and sit a day dream or laze around humming along with the song and tunes. Also if you want you can dance to the tunes and song in your favourite steps like a choreographer. Honestly this all helps a lot.
Cleaning and removing the clutter from the house, wardrobe is very therapeutic. Throwing the unwanted things gives a feeling of an instant relief and you feel light. This is a psychology. When you throw the unwanted things you to make the house clean we get a feeling of cleaning your mind cluttered with negative thoughts.
Developing a GRATITUDE practice is very much helpful. We have to always think about the positives we have been blessed with in our life. We need to see the LIFE as the “GLASS HALF FULL”. To always see the brighter side and be an optimistic person.
I believe that audience will agree with these simple ways which I have mentioned in this write- up with regard to dealing with the negativity. This problem needs to be addressed as it is raging like a wildfire in the society.
I want to conclude my blog by saying, that this journaling has been a kinda therapy for me too to de-clutter the chaos in my mind.Once I pour my thoughts in writing a blog , I am back to resume my daily routine which had brakes on for some time.
